Typical vehicle delivery is 5-7 days, but that time can stretch out to 7-10 days during peak season and for vehicles being shipped to rural areas. Even at 10 days, I consider it to be impressive that a 2,000 pound shipment can be delivered in approximately the same amount of time as a one ounce letter sent by regular mail.

There’s no reason that a shipping company couldn’t deliver your vehicle in the standard 5-7 days (unless it’s peak season or you’re in a remote location). It’s important to ask how long the process will take and ensure that you get a reliable shipping company with a great reputation for service.

If you Google “auto shipping”, you are overwhelmed with shipping companies that promise you the lowest rate. What about quality and service?  Very few, if any, of the ads refer to these valuable and important concepts. Think of it this way: you have just invested thousands, tens of thousands or maybe more on a vehicle. Not just any vehicle, but the vehicle that you wanted.  You have spent time and effort searching for this vehicle online -  if quality, options, extras, service, etc. were not important you would have settled and purchased a vehicle locally.  However, you demanded more… you may have researched online and studied market reports, or quite simply, you may have found and purchased your dream car.

Whatever the situation may be,  it is foolish to choose an auto shipping company based on cost alone. Use the same principles and ideas used to make the vehicle purchase. The shipment of a vehicle should not be based solely on who is the cheapest.  Do not entrust your vehicle to someone who has the outlook of quantity over quality.  If you care about quality and you care about service and the safety of your vehicle do not base your decision solely on price. Remember good service and commitment to excellence cost money. Research the shipping company and choose accordingly.
